Important Graduation Information

The following information is for potential graduates:


23rd Annual Graduation Ceremony - Class of 2025
Date: Thursday, June 26th, 2025
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Keswick High School Gymnasium

Graduation tickets (3 per student) and gown pickup will take place during exam week, June 18th-23rd in the Cafeteria from 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Please arrive promptly at KHS for 6:30 p.m. Bring your graduation gown (ironed), cap and red v-stoll. Please wear appropriate attire underneath your graduation gown. Once in the building, please go to individual Grad Marshalling Rooms. These are located upstairs in the Math pod. Please do not take personal items, including your phone, to the Marshalling rooms. Please leave them with family members to hold throughout the ceremony. Students will then be lined up alphabetically, with a ceremony start time of 7:00 p.m. For more information please contact the KHS Guidance Department .

National Indigenous Peoples Day 


National Indigenous Peoples Day takes place on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. For generations, many First Nations, Inuit , and Métis communities have celebrated their cultures, languages, and traditions at this time of year. The summer solstice holds deep spiritual and cultural significance for many Indigenous Peoples, marking a time of renewal, connection, and celebration. We would like to wish you and your families a happy National Indigenous Peoples Day. Tomorrow, we honour and celebrate the role of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit in Canada. Please take a moment to recognize and learn more about the many languages, cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.

 

Student Transportation Information for 2025-26 School Year


Dear parents/guardians,

Student Transportation Services of York Region (STSYR) is committed to supporting student achievement by planning and managing safe, efficient transportation that focuses on customer service and utilizes innovative resources. STSYR is responsible for ensuring all students receive transportation service in accordance with YRDSB Policy #680 - Student Transportation. 

Each year, during the summer planning period, STSYR Transportation Planners adjust bus route schedules to accommodate new students, boundary or program changes, bell time changes and new school openings. Transportation Planners also assess routes to ensure they are operating efficiently and effectively to provide optimal service for the students of York Region. 

As a result, some students may experience changes to their transportation arrangements, including their stop location, stop time, route number or vehicle type.

To ensure you have the correct, up-to-date information, all families are encouraged to check the Find Your Bus Stop page on our website at www.schoolbuscity.com in August. Please note: changes may also occur from time-to-time throughout the school year as students move into or out of the system.

NACCA Scholarship Awards Ceremony

Electronic Report Card Distribution


Access to report cards through the Family Dashboard is scheduled for July 7 - 10, 2025. If you require a paper copy, please email the school and allow 24 hours to process your request.

Access Report Cards in the Family Dashboard When Available

As we reach the end of the school year, schools will be sharing student report cards by June 30 for elementary schools and July 10 for secondary schools. Report cards will be available in the Family Dashboard until July
30. You will receive an email when your child’s report card is available. 

For families who do not yet have a Family Dashboard account , you can sign up for an account at any time at family.yrdsb.ca. You can find information on how to create an account on the Board website or in this instructional
video.

The Family Dashboard gives parents/guardians secure one-stop access to information and applications related to your child’s education. It is designed to make it easier for families to engage with their child’s education.

Please note, you can still request a printed copy of your child’s report card if you prefer by contacting your child’s school. 

As we wrap up the school year, we also want to remind families that it ’s important that the school has updated contact information for students and parents/guardians, including home address, phone numbers, email address and emergency contacts. This will ensure that the school can contact families in case of emergency, and also that you continue to receive important communications and updates from the school. Please contact the school directly with any changes.

Summer School 2025

For any students who have signed up for summer school A “welcome email” will be sent to all Elementary and Secondary Summer School students over the Canada Day long weekend with all the details. For transportation availability you can go to www.schoolbuscity.com, you should see a tab for Summer School. When you click on that tab you should be able to select Newmarket HS. When you select “submit ” a list of all of the feeder schools that have transportation available will show up.

2025-2026 Timetables

As we approach the final weeks of the school year, we know that anticipation for next year 's courses and schedule is building! We want to provide you with an update on how timetables for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year will be communicated. Please be advised that official student timetables for the 2025-2026 school year will be sent out via email closer to the start of school, week of August 18 . This communication will ensure you have the most up-to-date and finalized schedule for your child.

A Note on Teach Assist

We understand that many students are eager to see their courses and may check Teach Assist for this information. However, it's very important to remember that any information displayed on Teach Assist over the summer regarding next year 's schedule is purely tentative and subject to change. In some cases, the information on Teach Assist may not be accurate as we finalize student placements. 

What to Expect:

  • Official Timetable Release: Look for an email from Keswick High School around the week of August 18 containing your child's finalized timetable for the 2025-2026 school year.
  • Guidance Support: If your child has a specific timetable concern once the official version is released, our Guidance Department will be available to assist . Information on how to request timetable changes will be included with the official timetable release.
