The Social Sciences Department at Keswick High School helps students explore what it means to be human—how we think, interact, and shape the world around us. Through courses in family studies, psychology, sociology, anthropology, and social justice, students gain a deeper understanding of themselves, others, and the diverse communities that make up our global society.
Our teachers create inclusive, discussion-based, and inquiry-driven classrooms where curiosity is encouraged and critical thinking thrives. Students examine real-world issues such as relationships, identity, culture, equity, and social change, developing the empathy and analytical skills needed to navigate an increasingly complex world.
With a focus on hands-on learning and practical application, the Social Sciences Department empowers students to connect theory to life experience—whether through cooking labs in Family Studies, analyzing human behaviour, or exploring belief systems that shape cultures.
