Personalized Alternative Education Department

The Personalized Alternative Education (PAE) Department at Keswick High School is dedicated to providing individualized programming that supports student learning, achievement, and well-being. Our programs are designed for students who face challenges with the traditional school model, offering a flexible and supportive approach that meets each learner’s unique needs.

Through strategies such as modified timetables, smaller class sizes, alternative learning environments, and additional staff support, students are provided with the structure and guidance necessary to succeed academically and personally. Our Quadmester program divides the school year into four “quads,” allowing students to focus on two courses at a time for approximately nine weeks—helping them concentrate, stay organized, and achieve their goals.

The Alternative Learning Experiential Program (ALEP) combines classroom instruction with community-based learning, including paid or unpaid work placements, giving students real-world experience while earning high school credits. By blending academic, social, and experiential learning, the PAE Department empowers students to build confidence, develop skills, and take meaningful steps toward their future.

At KHS, Personalized Alternative Education is more than a program—it’s a pathway for success, tailored to each student’s strengths, interests, and aspirations.
