Families

Your support and partnership are vital throughout the year.  We hold several concerts a year, and your attendance is an important part of those performances.  One of our goals is to create an ever-growing musical community through musical performances.  If you have a performance opportunity for one of our ensembles, please reach out to Mr. Eriksen with the details.

Career Opportunities in Music

Music is a passion for many people, but finding a career in the field might seem like a challenge. Music programs at Ontario colleges and universities are equipped to give you practical applications for your skills and knowledge, so you can work at what you love. Investigate the links below for more information and talk with your music teacher and guidance counsellor.

Cooperative Education in Music

The Co-operative Education Department at Keswick High School offers several music placements in a variety of settings.  It is highly recommended that students take music courses in grades 9 and 10 if they are interested in a music-related placement in grade 11 or 12.

Potential placements include:

  • music recording
  • music publishing
  • instrument design and construction (drum building)
  • instrument repair
  • elementary school music classroom
  • secondary school music classroom

For more information about co-operative education placements, speak with the teachers in the Co-operative Education Department.
